Learning Programs
We take our responsibility seriously, and recognise the impact and influence we have on the formative years of those within our care.
At Vickers Road Community Childcare Centre, our environment is carefully planned and organised to maximise the children's opportunities to explore and learn using all of their senses.
Our centre values and involves the children in lots of activities in the fresh air with gentle sunlight, such as gardening. The children are involved in the whole experience of growing their own food, from recycling their scraps for the compost, to planting, watering and caring for our plants and then harvesting and eating their own produce.
Observing, interacting with and learning to care for animals can be a valuable part of a child's education and care experience, enriching their learning. We provide this experience to our children on a daily basis at the centre and currently have chickens, guinea pigs, a bird and fish.
Educators promote self-expression, exploration, experimentation, trial and error, critical thinking, opportunities to problem solve plus practice new and already mastered skills.
We believe children are unique, diverse individuals who develop at their own pace. The children's needs are fostered through a program based upon the benefits of play, routine, consistancy and structure. Positive surroundings help to develop a sense of security, where children feel comfortable to take risks and learn through play.
We strive to provide an atmosphere where children feel love, affection and have strong relationships with their carers, so they may thrive and develop to their full potential.
