About Us
Vickers Road Community Childcare Centre is a 58 place childcare facility. Our centre is a community based incorporation, which operates as a Not-For-Profit organisation. We are managed by a Parent Committee in conjuction with an experienced and qualified Early Childhood Director.
Our centre caters for children aged 6 weeks to school age (6 years). We are open from 7.00am to 6.00pm Monday to Friday, (52 weeks of the year) and closed on Queensland public holidays. Notice will be given in our newsletters when these days occur. We have 4 classrooms:
Joeys: 0-2 years old room
Ducks: 18 months-2.5 years room
Frogs: 2.5-3.5 years old room
Dinos: 3-6 years old room
The centre provides high quality care in line with the National Standards, guided by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and QKLG documents. Meeting these standards is not only a must - it is also a benchmark which we aim to exceed, particularly keeping in mind the expectations and desires of our parents and carers.
About the Centre
Our first priority is child safety and development. The Centre's playground is located on a large open area allowing all children plenty of space to explore and advance their development. The bike track, sandpit and fort are amongst the favourite activities of all children, as well as a large, undercover verandah for quiet, shady play. All children have access to an outside yard and air-conditioned rooms.
Vickers Road Community Childcare Centre provides freshly made, nutritious meals each day, prepared by an experienced cook.
The menu is posted for everyone to view and takes into account those children with special dietary requirements.

The Centre has received official recognition as a Sunsmart Centre, due to our proactive and consistant approach to guarding our children from sun damage. This includes sunscreen, hat and clothing policies and also ensuring outside play is at appropriate times of the day.
An important part of what we do is working with parents to build confidence, self-esteem and opportunity for each child to fulfill their individual potential. We encourage an exchange of information between parent and educator to assist with this while your child is at home and with us.
You will find plenty of opportunity to be involved, whether it is helping with fundraising, lending a hand with your special knowledge/skills, or simply being an extra set of hands at Centre events.
